This category deals with services that aren't even supposed to run to timetable! In Saddleworth there are two variants both provided by TfGM (formerly GMPTE):

Ring and Ride is a service specifically for those who have difficulty using public transport, categories such as the elderly or disabled but there are others as well.

Local Link is a type of shared taxi and serves specific areas. This service is open to all users and is operated by Radio Cars (Ashton) on behalf of TfGM. There are several such schemes across Greater Manchester but the relevant one for this gallery is the Mossley and Saddleworth one.

It started on 4th July 2004 and was extended from 15th April 2007 to provide an evening service to Pennine Meadows to replace the 407 evening service which was withdrawn from that date (as had been the Rural Bus Initiave services 351/356, withdrawn at the same time and also replaced by Local Link).

From 19th April 2009 it has also been extended in scope to cover journeys to Oldham in the evening from Delph, Dobcross and Diggle in place of the evening service beyond Uppermill on the 353/354 which was withdrawn at the same date.

By their nature these are difficult services to photograph as they don't run at specified times. Hence there is but a handful of photographs in this collection.
