724, along with 720, 722, 723 and 727 retained traction voltage lighting (instead of 24V DC) when they were rebodied and as such were of composite construction instead of using steel framing. 724 is on 6 road and 782 on 7 road. The road numbers remained from tram days as, in this case, did the pits.
