Huddersfield's contribution to the 184 was two buses each day. One of them on this occasion was 66786, crossing the formation of the Oldham to Greenfield railway in Springhead. This bridge was considered structurally unsound in the late sixties and there was talk of the road being closed whilst it was rebuilt, giving the prospect of some interesting diversions. However, as the railway was closed the more simple expedient of filling in underneath the bridge was adopted.
