Wynn's EDW 96 and NSWGR 4601 Oldham Mumps Bridge

Subject: Wynn’s 161 (EDW 96) hauling NSWGR 4601
Location: Oldham, Mumps
Date: c.1956

This splendid image captures Wynn’s Diamond T tractor as it passes under Mumps bridge and gives an unusual perspective on the junction as it was. To the right is Lees Road with one of Oldham’s FBU-series Crossleys (366-9) waiting to join the traffic behind the loco. Already in the queue is one of the 1950 PD2/3s and a Roe-bodied Daimler CVD6 is just trying to get into the picture on the extreme left. In the far distance is a Manchester Leyland-bodied PD2.

Notable is the Bobby on point duty - no traffic lights here at this time. Just visible in the left foreground is the bus stop seen in the previous photo.
