Subject: Doncaster C. T. 378 (LHN 780) Chassis: BUT 9611T Body: East Lancs H30/26R Location: Highfields, Great North Road Date: c.Mar-1960
LHN 780 is being hauled by Bradford's AEC Matador 017 and is seen here at Highfields on the Great North Road (A1).
This was on Doncaster's longest tram route, around four miles long which ran to Woodlands, close to Brodsworth Colliery which was a key source of traffic, although a little distance from the terminus. The route wasn't opened until 1916 and was the only Doncaster tram route not converted to trolleybus operation.
