This line-up of vehicles is seen at the Cymmer Colliery site in Porth which seems to have been used for storing some of the fleet when wartime expansion meant that the depot could no longer accommodate the whole fleet.
The war had taken its toll on the fleet and many vehicles were rebuilt by outside firms. Of the vehicles in this view AEC Regents 113 and 121 were rebuilt by Welsh Metal Industries in 1947 and 1949 respectively, 121 later being modified to seat 54. Later Regent 147 was the only Rhondda bus to be rebuilt by Portsmouth Aviation, in 1947 whilst Guy 180 was rebuilt by Starkey, Rhondda in 1948.
