Subject: Rhondda 77 (TG 1844)
Chassis: Bristol D
Body: BBW B32F
Location: Pontypridd, Sardis Road
Date: 1930s

77 was numerically the last of six Bristol Ds bought by Rhondda Transport. This chassis was basically the same as the B but instead of a four-cylinder engine had a six-cylinder engine. It remained a relatively-rare model with just fifty being built.

It is seen at the Sardis Road terminus in Pontypridd before the redevelopment of the County cinema, completed in 1939, created the more familiar backdrop here. This has changed again recently, since most of the captions for this gallery were written, as the cinema was demolished in May 2021.

77 ran for Rhondda until 1939, following which it was sold to a showman.
