The Optare Prismas in the First fleet looked much better when they received this livery, the previous one making them look very dowdy (partly due to the way it was applied).

By this date, although the B & Q store was still standing, it had closed. However, at this stage there was little other evidence of Metrolink and the railway was to remain open for a couple more years.
