Subject: Western Welsh 505 (VTG 505G)
Chassis: Leyland Atlantean PDR1A/1
Body: Northern Counties H42/31F
Location: Cardiff bus station
Date: 1-Aug-1971

At the time of this photograph the numbers 331 and 332 were used to distinguish the approach to Pontypridd with the 331 running along Broadway and the 332 via Ynysangharad Road. 331 was normally used for journeys to Pontypridd but there weren't any such workings on a Sunday so the 331 was used on journeys to Ferndale (but from Maerdy in the opposite direction).

However, this isn't a Sunday so I'm not quite sure which way 505 was going! It is in early Western Welsh days, which meant that these services were now no longer jointly operated, just by different depots of the same operator.
