Subject: National Welsh XR1995 (VTG 510G)
Chassis: Leyland Atlantean PDR1A/1
Body: Northern Counties H42/31F
Location: Hereford, Commercial Road
Date: 13-May-1982

Probably the most distant place a former Rhondda Transport bus ran from Porth in National Welsh service was Hereford. The former Rhondda 510 had become HR3669 and was based at the former Red & White depot in Ross.

There were only three departures per day from Hereford on the service to Ross via Hoarwithy. This had been the 67 but had recently become the 37. This particular journey left at 1605 and only ran through to Ross on a Saturday. During the week, as seen here, it ran as far as Hoarwithy and the driver seems to have taken the lazy option by partially winding the blind to show the intermediate point as the destination.

It's not clear what the bus did when it got to Hoarwithy as there was no suitable onward working for it. It probably worked an unadvertised works journey.
