Trolleybuses bound for Stalybridge looped past Ashton Market. Those returning to Manchester would initially head the same way to reach Stamford Street and the inbound wires from Stalybridge. By the end of operation the majority of workings terminating in Ashton on the 216 were on Saturdays, but this is something that varied over the years.
