Utility diversion work is just starting for Metrolink. Union Street has many fine buildings as can be seen here. On the left is the Grade II-listed Masonic Hall dating from the 1830s, currently for sale, next to which is the Union Street United Reform Church. This is another Grade II listed building opened on 17-Oct-1855. Across Queen Street from the church is the HSBC bank. On the other side are the old library and art gallery along with, nearer the camera, the Local Studies Library.
