There were six in this batch of Bristol Ls, four had 5LW engines but the last two (51/2) had 6LWs fitted. 52 was scrapped as early as 1959 following an accident but 51 lasted much longer. This was probably due to the larger power unit which made it most suitable for use as a towing bus.
