Subject: National Welsh ND1401 (KDW 347P)
Chassis: Leyland National 11351/1R/SC
Body: Leyland National DP48F
Location: Aberbeeg
Date: 7-Jul-1983

KDW 347P was renumbered ND1401 in January 1983 but has lost the prefix letters temporarily here. It also lost the distinctive Jones' blue livery following the Gwent Vales service revisions introduced on 26-Oct-1980 when that subsidiary was fully absorbed.

The bus is still very much on its old home turf as the 92 was really an extended version of the Jones 3 service from Crumlin to Abertliiery via Trinant, now extended to Brynmawr.

The scene has changed considerably since as the building dominating the background, the Hanbury Arms Hotel, has been demolished and replaced with housing. I recall spending an evening in there about ten years earlier - the one thing I remember is watching "Sergeant Bilko" on the televsion!
