U4168 shows the appearance of these vehicles after demotion to bus status, now in NBC poppy red livery with a single white band. This bus has even lost its original seats.

The last operational years for this bus were run from Cwmbran depot. Its destination Fairwater was one of the later parts of Cwmbran to be developed, between 1963 and 1966. Initially served just by a local Cwmbran town service, it soon gained a through service to Newport, in 1966/67.
