Subject: National Welsh 39 (D39 KAX) Chassis: Iveco 49-10 Body: Robin Hood B21F Location: Pontypridd bus station Date: c.Apr-1989
39 will have just arrived from Blaenrhondda as the journeys via Trealaw started there. Ultimately this service was numbered T5 to reduce confusion. The small print under the destination does say which way it goes, but the letters are quite small and the service was frequent enough to make confusion more likely. Note also the abbreviation of Tonypandy to Pandy, presumably due to the very limited space available on the blind.
39 passed to Rhondda Buses when National Welsh ceased operations and ran until late 1992 when it was withdrawn (presumably after this service was converted back to full-size buses) and sold to Allman, Chester.
