Subject: Robson Town Service CBO 29V Chassis: Leyland National 11351A/1R Body: Leyland National B49F Location: Stockton High Street Date: unknown
Competition was quite intense in Stockton in the post-deregulation era, with Cleveland Transit, Delta Coaches and Robson Town Service all competing on the 58 service to Hardwick Estate. Former Taff-Ely 29 moved to Robson after passing through National Welsh and is seen outside Stockton Parish Church with the war memorial in front.
The livery is somewhat reminiscent of the Class 142 Skipper railbuses which had moved from the West Country to the area at around the time of this photograph. They were also based on the Leyland National structure.
