Subject: National Welsh N655 (RBO 24R) Chassis: Leyland National 11351A/1R Body: Leyland National B49F Location: Rhymney, Victoria Road Date: 7-Aug-1989
The Newport to Merthyr service had been the 150 and was once worked by Red & White, Western Welsh, Gelligaer UDC and Bedwas and Machen UDC. At this time it was still running to Merthyr but was later to cut back to operate from Newport to Bargoed.
The building behind the bus has had a varied history. Once a print works it was in more recent times a fire station and the fixings for the lettering for “Monmouthshire Fire Brigade” can still be seen below the upstairs windows.
