Subject: Merthyr Tydfil C. T. 162 (EHB 262G)
Chassis: Leyland Leopard PSU4/2R
Body: East Lancs B43F
Location: Cardiff bus station
Date: 13-Apr-1969

162 shows off well the original condition of these Leopards and the new look which they brought to the fleet. Twenty-two arrived in two years which helped replace the Bristol K fleet and also introduce one-man operation on a larger scale.

This batch of Leopards was split with six longer PSU3/2R models and six PSU4/2R models. This was the last of the six short ones which were not so much used on the Cardiff service, but this is a Sunday morning working when the lower capacity would not be a problem. It is working one-man operated, introduced on the Sunday morning workings from 27-Jan-1969.
