Central Garage started operations in 1947 with a secondhand AEC Regal from Rhondda Transport. They went on to buy a mixture of new and secondhand coaches, having a very varied fleet including Bedford, Dennis, Maudslay and Tilling-Stevens chassis.

The Excursions and Tours business was acquired by Pleasureways in 1958 and Central Garage went on to become Ford dealers. It closed finally in 2006 when the site was redeveloped to provide sheltered housing.
