Subject: Jay Bee 4640 DK Chassis: AEC Reliance 2U3RA Body: Harrington Cavalier C45F Location: Oldham, off Mount Pleasant Street Date: unknown
This photograph was taken in what is now called Lees Road Filling Station and there is still a car wash there today. It also still sees regular visits from buses, as Stott’s Optare Solos can regularly be seen there in the evening filling up.
4640 DK was originally in the famous Yelloway fleet and was bought in March 1974, lasting until February 1976. Despite its relatively short stay, it carried two very different liveries in that period.
From an original slide in the David Beilby collection, photographer unknown.
