Three of these Leopards originating with the National Travel West fleet as N281-N283 joined the Crosville Cymru fleet in 1987 along with the ex-Ribble Leyland Tigers, between them displacing most of the Willowbrook-bodied Leopards.

When new N281-N283 were specified for use on the National Express 540 Rapide service from London to Manchester and had a television screen housed in a large ungainly pod where the first roof light would normally be. Unsurprisingly this had been removed by this date.
