Subject: Rhondda Buses 850 (HIL 3188) Chassis: Leyland Olympian ONTL11/2RH Body: East Lancs CH47/31F Location: Cardiff, Mill Lane Date: 9–May-1996
850 has been captured here on the stretch of route unique to the X10 service which took it to the ice rink, after which the bus would continue to Blaencwm.
The Glamorganshire Canal made its way through the city centre largely by taking over the old moat round the castle and city walls and once ran where 850 is seen. The city walls were to the right and the South Gate was just in front of the distant notice saying "Now Available To Let" where St. Mary Street runs.
850 was withdrawn towards the end of 1996 and passed in turn to Shuttle Buses, Kilwinning then Durbin, South Gloucestershire and finally Blueways, St. Leonards.
