This view shows how far advanced the design was as the entrance arrangement is just as found on early Leyland Atlanteans built over twenty years later, save for the fact that the AEC Q had no door.

The AEC Q had the engine on the offside between the axles. Despite its modern appearance it did not sell very well and most fleets just tried a single example.
