This tram is believed to be number 7 as it features in the other photographs. It was part of the initial Cardiff fleet that inaugurated operation on 1st May 1902.

Although not very obvioius from this photograph, these trams were lower than normal to allow passage under various railway bridges where the overhead wire was only fifteen feet above road level.

A new tram 7 was put into service, part of a batch of fifty-five to modernise the fleet, but depsite that, this 7 managed to survive a little longer. It was renumbered 139 and lasted until 1927, partly working a shuttle service on City Road when the complex City Road junction was renewed.
