Subject: Portsmouth C. T. 24 (RV 6382) Chassis: AEC 661T Body: English Electric H26/24R Location: Preston, Dick, Kerr Works Date: 1935
24 was exhibited at the Commercial Motor Show in 1935 and presumably to improve its presentation for this event it had a more enclosed trolley base than the rest of the batch, although it subsequently lost this feature (thank you to those who have commented below). There was a detailed livery difference as the moulding above the upper deck windows was white instead of the usual black.
Renumbered 224 in 1938 it was stored in 1940 and didn't re-enter service until 1944. However, it had a longer life than others of the batch and was the last to be withdrawn, in 1958.
