Subject: Portsmouth C.T. 111 (RV 2006) Chassis: Crossley Condor Body: English Electric H26/24R Location: Preston, Dick, Kerr Works Date: 1932
This vehicle was built as part of Contract No 444 D 1007/8 and for this bus the chassis number is 90898.
Comparison with the interior view of TD1 89 shows the two types to be virtually identical. However, there are differences at floor level.
On this Crossley the most obvious one is the flywheel cover carrying the Crossley name. It is an unusual shape as it is deeper at the nearside, possibly to clear the starter motor or dynamo. There is also an access flap mid-way along the saloon, which is probably for access to the centre bearing.
