Major work had taken place on Lees Road in the Clarksfield area in 2009-2010 and this culminated in the road being re-surfaced. However, this task didn't go quite to plan with the contractors having to do it three times before an acceptable result was obtained. To do this Lees Road was closed (for more Sundays than were originally intended!) and buses were diverted via Waterhead and Stamford Road. 37442 is on a 180 to Greenfield (you have to trust me on this one) and is passing St. John the Baptist Church in Hey. It is my understanding that the boundary between Oldham and Saddleworth ran down the centre of the road here, putting buses in this direction in Saddleworth!
