The ubiquity of the Alexander Y-type body is well illustrated in this collection and it was certainly a common type of bus on this route. Ribble's 1068, seen pulling into Regent Street in Oldham, was new as North Western 311. It has been rebuilt with a non-standard front dash, the lower part being similar to (but not the same as) that fitted to North Western's Alexander-bodied Bristol REs.
