Subject: Creamline DAU 444C
Type: Leyland Atlantean PDR1/2/Metro-Cammell H44/33F
Location: Tonmawr depot
Date: c.Apr-1979

New as Nottingham City Transport 444 in 1965, this was the last of the batch of twenty-two such vehicles. Whilst many of the buses delivered in the mid-sixties were rebuilt to dual-door configuration, these remained unchanged.

The bus to the right was new in 1955 as South Wales 447 (MCY 407) and was an AEC Regent V MD3RV with Weymann H33/26R body, later fitted with platform doors. It became one of the first routine withdrawals of a Regent V by any major operator when the whole batch of ten was sold in 1966. It passed to Whippet, Hilton in 1967 and in the following year it moved to Holder, Charlton-on-Otmoor, in whose livery it is seen. It seems to have been kept at the Creamline depot for some time in its early days in preservation.
