502 is entering Bridgend from Porthcawl and is on a remodelled section of Quarella Road, changed to accommodate the junction with the new Boulevard de Villenave d'Ornon. The new road does not seem to be quite complete, but it must have been usable for the 172 to get here from Tondu Road. It did open that year.
