Buses don’t normally turn from Yorkshire Street into Union Street, but on this occasion Metrolink works at Mumps meant the normal inbound route into town from the east was blocked. Buses used Shaw Road and Egerton Street and normally missed this part of town. However, some had to come down here to change drivers, which was done on Union Street, fairly near the garage. At least it was a nice day for the walk!

On the right can be seen the temporary signage added to guide people between the town centre and the first Metrolink stop at Mumps.
