I normally avoid flash for night photography, but in the circumstances of this photograph I had little choice. This bus in Rochdale Corporation commemorative livery is not usually seen on the 180 and the unexpected late encounter meant I had little choice about the lighting. Attempts without the flash had only yellow-orange from the street lighting and the blue livery was completely lost. 37451 is waiting at the Clarence and would shortly turn round for its trip to Manchester.
