HR7437 had only been bought from West Midlands PTE, where it was numbered 4423, three months earlier and would be briefly renumbered HHR7437 after this photograph only to become XR1959 in Jan-1983. After that things settled down a little!

It is employed on the 332 service, leaving Cardiff for Maerdy. These buses were fitted with power steering soon after acquisition, this work being done by Alder Valley, the company name of which was The Thames Valley and Aldershot Omnibus Company Ltd.
