The canal restoration here involved rebuilding the canal bridge (which had been culverted), not helped by the road having also been re-aligned. However, although it was a big job and much congestion was anticipated, disruption was probably less than expected and the buses were able to keep going. It was a problem location from a bus operator's point of view as there were no suitable diversions if the road had to be closed here.
