Subject: Blue Bus 75 (B25 ADW) Chassis: Leyland Tiger TRBTL11/2RP Body: East Lancs DP47F Location: Bleak Hey Nook, Huddersfield Road Date: 16-Aug-1996
Blue Bus of Horwich started an operation in Huddersfield and one of the services they worked was the 365 across the Pennines to Oldham. This was as unlikely a route as you could imagine for competition - prior to deregulation there were just four weekday journeys a day in each direction but at this point there were three PER HOUR!
Not surprisingly, this situation didn't last last and the service returned to the previous hourly level. This was one service that had seen a lasting improvement to the frequency at deregulation. However, since 2004 the 365 has been replaced by an extension of the 184 service which uses a different road and this section of road no longer has a regular bus service.
Blue Bus 75 had been new to Rhymney Valley District Council but had latterly been Rhondda Buses 695.
