Whilst this scene from 19th March 1976 at the Farrar's Arms has changed relatively little in the years since this photo was taken, there have been many detail changes. The pub itself proudly displays its Watneys ownership, with a red barrel sign and the bulbous white lettering which was the corporate style of the time. Shaw Hall Garage was still open and selling Shell petrol and also open was the small antique shop at the end of Mossley Road. This very small shop had served that function for many years, but was hardly ever open and cannot have done much business. It has now been amalgamated into the adjoining house. PD2 3492 was one of the batch with Burlingham bodies which were less common, but not unknown, in Saddleworth.
