On 27th July 1974 3688 has just breasted the summit of the route at Lydgate and is closely followed by a Metro-Scania saloon on the 431 from Diggle to Carrcote. An oil can in the foreground highlights the fact that it is the forecourt of Lydgate Service Station, now replaced by flats.
