Former Manchester PD2 3715 heads through the centre of Greenfield village on 3rd June 1972. To the left is Butterworth's garage, at the time still selling petrol at roadside pumps in the traditional way, although I believe even then the main use for the pumps was to fill up the lorries of the haulage fleet, which was still based there until 2006. It was a long-established operation and even had a picture of a charabanc on display in the office. The shop, which sold bicycles and spares, only closed in recent years.
