A more difficult picture to position accurately is this one, which is actually two combined as it is the same ex-Manchester PD2 visible negotiating the bend and reaching the top of the hill. Hopefully this panoramic view from across the valley will give those not familiar with the area an idea of the terrain around Greenfield station. The original station buildings are still standing at the time of the photo, 7th April 1973. Below them is a partially demolished building which used to be much taller and was known as the lighthouse.
