Detail view showing the EE406/1B1 traction motor and the air supply equipment. This comprises a Westinghouse compressor (probably an E5 model) driven by an English Electric EE703A motor. To the right of that is the anti-freeze unit, compressor governor and air reservoir with safety valve on top. The design of drain cock ensures that the handle will not get knocked open in service.
