Subject: Bradford C.T. chassis and body frame Chassis: AEC 661T Body: English Electric Location: Preston, Dick, Kerr works Date: 1934
The body framing isn't mounted on the chassis, it is just placed in position on wooden blocks. From the later photographs of the structure (P4120 and P4121 in particular) it is clear this structure was not deemed satisfactory as on the later photographs the body structure can be seen to utilise a deeper section waistrail. This structure also has a continuous central front pillar which would go right through the middle of the destination display!
This location I find very much reminiscent of the 'tin shed' at Thornbury where trolleybuses were first garaged and in later days withdrawn buses and trolleybuses were stored.
