Over the years Pontypridd and later Taff-Ely had quite a fleet of ancillary vehicles. These ranged from tower wagons for the tram and trolleybus system to a whole series of cars and small vans. There were driver training vehicles (including some for HGV driver training) and recovery vehicles.
Most of the fleet seems not to have been troubled by photographers. Unsurprisingly the ones that are recorded are largely vehicles that had previously been in the bus fleet and these are grouped together in their own separate collection here.
The ancillary fleet started to receive fleet numbers very late in Urban District Council days and all received numbers after that apart from the final acquisition, a Vauxhall Cavalier bought in 1985.
