The swinging flap at the rear shows the gradient but doesn’t reflect well on maintenance standards. RS4767 has climbed Augustus Street and turned onto Clive Terrace.

A rare sight on the left is the bus stop flag. These were conspicuous by their absence in the Aberdare operating area at least. This is a genuine Red & White one and probably dates from the introduction of the Estate Junction variant of the service.
