Red & White L139 (CTX 762) Pontypridd Berw Road R Marshall
Subject: Red & White L139 (CTX 762) Chassis: Albion Venturer CX19G Body: Lydney L27/26R Location: Pontypridd, Berw Road Date: early 1950s
CTX 762 was supplied new in October 1938 to Eclipse Saloon Services Ltd., Clydach as their 44 transferring to United Welsh on its formation as their 611. When new it had a Duple H30/26R body, but when rebodied by Lydney in 1949 it joined the main Red & White fleet, soon being renumbered L139 (erroneously as it was a 1938 vehicle).
It ran for Red & White until 1957 and passed via a dealer to Edwards of Lydbrook who fitted it with platform doors. A long-lived vehicle, it was finally withdrawn in May 1962.
There are not many people around on what appears to be typical valleys wet day.
