The first of the twenty-one Bristol RESL6Ls new in 1967 was one of the few to move away from Aberdare and spent a long time at Tredegar. Having been new as RS167 it was later RS2967 before receiving the later number RS1301.

It was the last survivior of the batch and made a surprise return to Aberdare in November 1983 for a short period. It is seen passing through Ynysybwl.
