This National had started its career at Aberdare depot numbered NS1179. At the beginning of 1983 it was given the number seen here.

It later moved around several National Welsh garages such that when the eastern part of the operation was sold to Western Travel in 1991 it formed part of that fleet and became a Red & White bus.

It is just leaving the built-up part of Pontypridd and is crossing the railway line to Merthyr Tydfil and Aberdare.
