A surprising addition to the Oldham garage fleet, fortunately photographed by Mark Amis during its very brief sojourn, was this Volvo Citybus 38128 (K128 GNH). It was new in 1992 to a council company, Northampton Transport, in a pleasing red and cream livery, and carried the name "Grand Junction Canal". The following year Northampton became only the second company to be bought by GRT Holdings who went on to become FirstBus in 1995 by merger with Badgerline. Not long after this photo 38128 moved to Glasgow to join others of the type.
