Subject: National Welsh N661 (MAR 797P)
Chassis: Leyland National 11351A/1R
Body: Leyland National B49F
Location: Porth depot
Date: early-1992

MAR 797P was the last of a batch of eighteen Nationals supplied to Eastern National in 1976 and was numbered 1775 by them. It had been acquired by Brewers before being sold to National Welsh in November 1991 where it was allocated the fleet number N661, on paper at least, becoming (numerically at least) the last Leyland National to join the National Welsh fleet.

This distinction carried little weight, however. It wasn't used by National Welsh and I suspect it had not been used by Brewers either, it shows no evidence of use although sister MAR 796P did run in this Eastern National livery prior to being repainted. After the demise of National Welsh it passed to Rhondda Buses who didn't use it either.
