Subject: Tellings-Golden Miller 660 (MAR 796P) Chassis: Leyland National 11351A/1R Body: Leyland National B49F Location: Pontypridd bus station Date: 18-Apr-1992
Brewers acquired several Nationals around the end of 1990 including three from Eastern National. MAR 796P was numbered B687 by Brewers and had been Eastern National 1774. It originally operated with Brewers in the green and yellow livery of its previous operator. This was one of five Nationals which passed from Brewers to National Welsh in late 1991.
After the end of National Welsh 660 joined the Rhondda Buses fleet and is working the 244 service back to its previous home of Bridgend. Presentation is not very good, it still has no fleet names and the route information is handwritten on a piece of paper stuck inside the windscreen.
Behind is former National Welsh Willowbrook-bodied Leyland Leopard UC8109 (KWO 563X), later UC1182, UD1182, UD1382, UD382 and finally Red & White 382. It carries Swiftlink livery and like two of the three similar vehicles that joined the Rhondda Buses fleet has been rebuilt with a Plaxton front.
